Since the second half of January 2013, Coritiba has been in the United States. This is because the Coxa School Project has arrived in the city of Charleston. The coordinator of the project, Guilherme Ribas, and club observer, Pachequinho, were at the unit’s inauguration ceremony.
In total, the little school already has 90 students, between four and seventeen years old. Of this number, 30% are girls, which shows the force of women’s football in the North American county. “The inauguration of the Coxa School outside of the country was very important. We had an opportunity to present how the project and club operate. Through the Coxa School Project, we have taken the Coritiba brand to the United States”, states Guilherme Ribas.
He stated further that the visit abroad was important for making new contacts and said that a new unit should be opened in Charleston within this first semester. “We hope to inaugurate this new unit in the first semester. And the idea is to visit these units once a year, along with technical observer”, Ribas affirmed.
Technical observer of Coritiba and ex-player, Pachequinho, reiterated the importance of the Coritiba brand being promoted in one of the politically most important countries in the world. “It was great traveling into the countryside of the United States and seeing so many children and adolescents uniformed in the colors of Coritiba”, he said.
